Essential amino acid L-phenylalanine in its bioidentical form Phenylalanine is an essential amino acid, which is present in almost all foods and in particularly high concentrations in eggs, legumes, dairy products and chicken. Phenylalanine was first isolated from the yellow lupin in 1879 and was chemically synthesised a few years later. In the body, it can be metabolised into the conditional amino acid L-tyrosine, which in turn is a precursor of the hormones and neurotransmitters dopamine, noradrenaline and adrenaline. These hormones belong to the group of the catecholamines and perform numerous different functions in the human body. Biogena L-Phenylalanin 500 contains phenylalanine in its bioidentical L-form and thus, provides a good opportunity to complement your daily diet. Not suitable for persons with phenylketonuria. The intake of L-phenylalanine or L-tyrosine should be avoided during pregnancy, while breast-feeding, in case of high blood pressure and severe liver diseases. Do not use if you suffer from schizophrenia. The side effects of medications used for treating schizophrenia can be intensified by the simultaneous intake of L-phenylalanine.
RECOMMENDED DOSAGE 3 x 1 capsule daily taken outside mealtimes with plenty of liquid. Not for use in phenylketonuria.
